Network Support Specialist - Cape Canaveral, FL
Essential Functions
- Provide network device support and operations support to the customer
- Support mission network infrastructure and resolve Routing, Switching, Firewall, Intrusion Detection, Load-Balancing, Serial to IP and Virtual environment incidents
- Ensure the enterprise is compliant and free from vulnerabilities
- Provide day-to-day support of the Mission Enterprise Network
- Verify network equipment configurations
- Assist in the resolution of network issues
- Perform basic network troubleshooting on Routers and Switches
- Assist in remediation of network vulnerabilities
- Work as a team member on technical issues
- Communicate with users when needed
- Maintain complete technical documentation
- Participate in 24/7 on-call schedule, responding to network outages and other events
- Work with other departments to help them deploy new applications
- Follow all Change Management procedures
- Complete assigned training and assist with the training of others to ensure optimal availability of qualified personnel for daily operations, maintenance, and launch support
- Perform other duties as assigned

Required Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in a technology related field or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Two (2) or more years of overall information technology experience
- Two (2) or more years of network administration experience
- Competent Knowledge and Experience in:
- OSI Layer 3 Routing and Layer 2 Switching
- OSPF
- 802.1Q VLans
- MAC locking/filtering
- QoS
- Network diagnostic, monitoring and analysis tools
- A basic understanding of network operating systems
- Experience with SolarWinds, JUNOS, and Cisco IOS, preferred
Additional Eligibility Qualifications
- Security+ CE certification or ability to obtain and maintain certification within six months of start date
- The flexibility to work frequent non-duty hours or on weekends to support specific project or mission requirements
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret Security Clearance, which includes U.S. citizenship
- Valid U.S. Driver’s License
